Sightseeing
For a unique experience in the heart of Guatemala City, the Jungla Urbana is a local project to recover the canyons in between the neighborhoods of the city. You can hike different trails along the valleys, observe some antique stone bridges from the time when the area was still a coffee farm outside the city center. The nature is luxuriant and trails are groomed to reach different part of the gorge, alternating sightseeing points, rest and play areas. A local guard will help you at the entrance to guide you through your visit. Perfect activity to relax 2-3 hours and makes a perfect change from the intense life of the city.

It is a great place to spend a day to relax and visit another site in Guatemala City.

It has lots of options for coffee, shops and restaurants. It is safe to walk by during the day. Two blocks away East from the plaza, you can also visit the local market which has a section for tourists.

It is two blocks away from the apartment and you can see it from the balcony of the apartment (to your right). Clothes
Weather is very stable in Guatemala, mostly split between a dry and a wet season. The temperature stays around 20-25C most of the year during the day, with fresher nights. During the rainy season, it rains only during the afternoons every few days. The rains are usually short. Take a raincoat. Long sleeves and long pants are useful for the sun or for the mosquitos at night.
Verkehrsmittel
Uber and driving
Best to get around using Uber, very easy and good service. Or driving your own car. Best to avoid peak hours (8-9am, 5-6pm) as the traffic is quite intense.

People are very nice and welcoming in Guatemala. Don't hesitate to say "buenos dias/buenas tardes" (good morning/afternoon) or "gracias" (thank you). People will be please to interact with you, even crossing someone in the streets.
