Baker Grego has been a professional chef for 25 years, growing up in Granada in southern Spain. After meeting his wife Hanna, Grego relocated to Melbourne before moving to Inverloch where his family has been based for almost a decade. Grego and Hanna have two kids, Leo and Amalia. During a recent one-year sabbatical with his family in southern Sweden, Grego did an intensive apprenticeship with one of Sweden’s leading bakers. Restaurants

One of my favourite Inverloch Restaurants. Nagasaki-born, Osaka-raised chef Tomo Ezaki carved a named for himself at Ocha in Melbourne’s Kew for three years before packing his yanagi (sashimi knife) and relocating to the small coastal town of Inverloch for a sea change. That was in 2007, and he’s been luring Melbourne fans and winning local hearts (and stomachs) with his extensive menu of traditional and modern Japanese delicacies ever since. The menu at Tomo’s capers from tsutsumi age (deep-fried prawn dumplings) and meticulously crafted sashimi to soft-shell crab and grilled sweet-miso black cod. If you like heat, opt for the sautéed salmon on a base of wasabi mashed potato topped with wasabi-tinted tartare sauce. There’s Sapporo on tap, wines from local vignerons, and a range of Japanese whiskies and sake to wash it all down. Ezaki’s udon soup game ramps up in winter, and there’s yakisoba, donburi, and the staple Bento Box (complete with sashimi, tempura, prawn dumplings, rice and miso) come midday. Don’t skip dessert – some say the crepes rival those found in France. When the weather is cool, pull up a chair in the intimate dining room. In summer, there’s a courtyard edged with bamboo, so you can enjoy your gyoza and sake under the stars.

Excellent fish and chips - with the fish caught straight off the boats that dock at San Remo. Eat on the jetty and in the warmer months the kids might like to do a jetty jump! Cellar Doors & Wineries

Dirty 3 is a small winery, run by our friends Lisa Sartori and Marcus Satchell. Their homeland is Gippsland, where they grow and make Pinot Noir from three distinct “dirts”. Their cellar door is located in the industrial centre of Inverloch. Their wines sing of the dirt in which they’re grown. The path they follow is quite simple... grow fantastic fruit and pick it just at the right moment. Doing this enables them to use as little artificial adjustments in the winery as possible. In the welcoming cellar door you will experience a relaxed tasting and discover wines that are a true expression of the unique characters of their vineyards across Gippsland. You will quickly appreciate why Gippsland is becoming recognised for producing cracking Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. OPEN: 12pm - 5.30pm Fri - Sun.

Wonderful Distillery in the heart of Loch Village. The acclaimed spirits and ales of Loch Brewery & Distillery arose out of a dream. That dream started many years ago, during a workplace discussion about whisky. It was fuelled by years of discovering the wonders of single malt. Then, a chance opportunity to learn more about making whisky came about at one of Tasmania’s leading Distilleries spurred it on. A trip to the ‘’home of single malt’ was undertaken and visits to many small Breweries throughout the UK ensued. Here’s a secret: To make good whisky, first you needed to make a good beer base. When that secret was shared with us, it got us thinking: if you needed 80% of a brewery to make a whisky beer, why not complete the extra 20% and brew some good old fashioned Ales. The hunt for a building began. After much searching, we found a beautiful 100 year old, red brick bank in a small village of Loch, South Gippsland. Its large open space now accommodates some of our stills and the Cellar Door. Adjoining the former bank was a derelict Butchers shop – this now houses our 12hL brewery. We had a bit of know-how by now, and recognised that we could design our own old British style brewery and have it built locally. We contracted a highly skilled stainless fabricator in Leongatha. Within five months, our very locally made British style brewery was fully operational! Brewery underway, we turned our attention to stills. We wanted to distil with Alembic Copper Pot Stills—a design that dates back well over seven hundred years. We found this design difficult to access in Australia, so we got them from a small company in Portugal that specialises in hand-beaten pot stills. They are amazing for distilling and beautiful to look at. Commercial production started in March 2014. Opening Hours Fri-Sun: 11am-4pm Mon-Thurs: Closed

The Gurnett family emigrated from Somerset, England to Foster, Victoria in 2001. They yearned for a taste of the traditional dry ciders that they had left behind. Unable to find any ciders they liked, they started making their own! After years of searching for the perfect land to grow their cider apple trees, the family found their dream 70 acre farm at 343 Fish Creek-Foster Rd. The family set to work, bringing their vision to life by planting thousands of heritage apple trees across the farm. They built their cider production shed and finally using a mix of locally sourced and recycled timber built their award winning Cellar Door. We look forward to welcoming you on family farm and sharing our passion for cider with you! The Gurnett Family (Gurneys) Opening Hours Sat and Sun: 12-4pm Kitchen closes @ 3pm
