Sightseeing
This is an easy hike along a trestle bridge and dirt road from downtown Juneau to the Last Chance Basin. The starting point is just outside downtown Juneau. The beginning of the path is lined with colorful historic homes with unique architecture allowing the homes to be built on such a steep incline. The paved road quickly turns onto the trestle bridge overlooking a spectacular canyon. This dramatic change from urban to wilderness is so stark, I have never experienced it anywhere else in the world.
The path provides access to multiple trailheads, including the Gold Creek Flume Trail, Mt. Roberts Trail, and Perseverance Trail, and to the Last Chance Mining Museum.
