My favorite coffee shop nearby is Preserve and Gather at 358 NW 85th St. Their coffee is great and so are their food items. I really like the star anise latte, ham and jam biscuit, and homemade yogurt and granola. Please note that this isn’t the best place to get work done since they don’t have wifi.

They have outstanding baked goods. I love their ham and gruyere croissants and macarons.

If Golden Gardens and Carkeek Park are too crowded, this is a great little hidden gem. Park at the Elks Lodge and enter the beach from the left side. Also a great spot to take a rental kayak from across Seaview Ave.

Beautiful lake/park with a 3 mile walking trail around it. You can rent paddleboats and other water toys, there are tennis and basketball courts, soccer fields, etc. and the area has some really great coffee shops and restaurants.
