This is a must see only 15 minutes away from the house. Once you arrive to the Elk Falls parking lot it is about a 15 minute walk to the falls you can then extend your walk and do a 30 minute loop of old forest growth.

‘The spit’ we call it, is a park area at the end of Spit Rd. it has stunning views of the ocean and the estuary. (FYI: if you bring your water toys the estuary is a popular spot for such activities).

This is a well loved 2 hour moderate hike just 20 minutes north of town. The lookout is spectacular!

We like this walk on a sunny day, it takes us about 1 hr 15 mins to do the loop. There is one big hill and stairs other then that it’s relatively easy. It’s right in town only about 15 mins from the house.

This is a beautiful 1 hr 20 min drive along a lake with viewpoints and small walks offered along the way. The made for Apple TV show “See” with Jason Momoa was filmed here. The actual walk down to the waterfall from the parking lot is only about 15 mins. People swim here in the summer.

This tourist destination is about an hour south of us. (The goats are not on the roof in the winter). It’s worth a day trip to Coombs everyone loves it.

This is my very favourite summer hike which is a 40 min drive up Mount Washington. They have an easy path/boardwalk which is amazing, we do the easy part then add the Helen Mackenzie/Battleship lake loop to make a 2 hr moderate hike.
Note: take a snack the Whiskey Jack’s will land in your hand and nibble away.
