Food Scene in Lyme Regis

We’ve listed some of our favourite places to eat in Lyme Regis. We’d definitely recommend booking in advance. Although you can’t book The Lyme Bay cafe. All of the pubs along the seafront serve food and they are all a decent standard. Fish and Chips is available from either Herbies or the Lyme Bay Fish Bar. Standard is really high.
Lilac is a lovely wine bar on the high street in Lyme Regis. The owner is local chef Harriet Mansell. Food is small plates of delicious local suppliers. It’s a bit more expensive than some other places, but worth it for a treat. Atmosphere is relaxed.

Monmouth beach is just the other side of the Cobb in Lyme Bay. It is often a bit quieter. At low tide you can walk to the far end and enjoy the Ammonite pavements. Hundreds of fossils carved deep into enormous stones that are a wonderful site to behold

Taxis and Buses

Book taxis in advance. We use Causley Cabs on 01297642011 or Terry’s Taxis on 07502262206. There is no Uber in Lyme and the taxis do get quite booked up. You can also hop on and off the Jurassic Coaster bus which goes every hour.
