Marathonisi is a small island where sea turtles come to hatch their eggs. It is protected, and walking is permitted only 3 meters from the shore. WWF volunteers are there to make sure the rules are respected and inform the visitors. The beauty of this island is breathtaking. Swimming in this beautiful clear crystal water is like therapy for the soul. You must combine this visit with the magnificent caves of Keri at the cape of Marathia. You can book your trip with companies that take large groups, book a private tour, or rent a boat from Keri beach and be a captain for the day. If you want to rent your boat, be sure to do it in your early days because, in case of a weather cancellation, you will at least be able to rearrange it.
