Coffee, Breakfast and Brunch

Here are my recommendations of places in the area where you can have tasty coffee, a lazy breakfast or a copious brunch
Ample breakfast menu, also serves alcohol if you prefer your eggs with a martini. The food is tasty and the coffee is of good quality. You can either order to go from the window on the street or sit inside. Limited seating outside.

Great place for a big breakfast, they serve coffees, pastries and have a menu with full English breakfast, all sorts of eggs, French toasts, and other tasty sounding breakfast suggestions like "salmon cream cheese and avocado on sourdough toast"

Lovely italian place serving amazing coffees and Italian groceries. Some seating outside. Good for an authentic italian coffee - apparently they also serve delicious burrata and other Italian food!

Food and Drinks

Before catching your bus/ train or after a long day out you may want to have dinner or drinks in the area. Here are my recommendations
Perfect place to chill and have food before you catch your bus or train from Victoria Station. It has two floors with street food like tacos, kebabs, burgers, Indian food and has a bar on the rooftop! There’s ample seating space on each floor.

A typical British pub 12 minutes away by foot. Great place if you want to taste a huge fish & chips, tasty burgers or if you simply want to have a pint of beer or drinks. No need to book most times and the staff is super friendly.

The best spot in Pimlico if you want authentic fish and chips - the fish is tender and freshly battered. Welcoming staff.

Another typical British pub with a bit tacky and old fashioned decoration, but great for immersion into British culture. I haven't tried the food there but it's great for a drink with friends. Live music is played many nights.

What to see - within 20 minutes' walk

If you have ‘seen it all’ in London, don’t have much time or are too tired to go far, here are few things you can see close by.
Access the central area of this historical block of flats through the gates on Grovesnor Road and you'll enter an exclusive garden with beautifully crafted roses and a central fountain with a statue of dolphins. Great if you want some quiet, it's even quieter than St George's Square but there might be more children playing around.

The front of Tate Britain sometimes features interesting decorations. But aside from its outside beauty, Tate Modern is our closest museum to Pimlico. It features mostly art made in Britain from 1545 to the present day. Not to confuse with its sister museum, Tate Modern (which you can reach with the Uber Boat!).

Battersea has a beautiful park for walking, running cycling. Aside from a secret walled garden (ask me for the exact location!) it is host to a Children's Zoo, an tree climbing experience as well as sports facilities. Nearby is the Battersea Power Station newly developed area with lots of bars and often has events (check out batterseapowerstation.co.uk for info)

Aside from being one of the historical stations of London and built in 1860, it’s a great neighbourhood for shopping and restaurants if you’d rather go for names you know and be sure of what you get! In terms of food you can find the main burger joints: McDonald’s, Burger King, Shake Shack,… but also the usual chains like Pret, Leon, Nando’s, Giraffe, Le Pain Quotidien,… In terms of fashion you’ll find Zara, Mango, Accesorize, Oliver Bonas, and a department store House of Fraser.

Get the Uber Boat to go from Pimlico to Tower Bridge

A fun way for the family or friends to go from Pimlico towards East London is to take the Uber Boats. They cost more than the tube (circa £7 for an adult), but definitely less than the tourist boats and you get to enjoy all the scenery on your way: London Eye, Big Ben, Houses of Parliament, St Paul's Cathedral, Millenium Bridge, etc)

Fancy a run?

I’m also a keen runner so if you need some motivation to get out there and combine sightseeing with fitness then let me know and I’ll take you around for a touristy run. Together we can see Big Ben, Houses of Parliament, Westminster Abbey, Trafalgar Square, St James’ Park, Victoria Station area… Adapted to your pace and how much you wish to run 🙂
