Sightseeing

Follow the trail leading to a series of swimming holes & cascades tumbling over granite boulders. If you have a medium level of fitness, it is definitely worth the walk to the waterfall itself. It pays to wear reef shoes or other enclosed shoes with good grip, as the rocks can be slippery when wet (nothing to do with Bon Jovi 😉) Emerald Creek Falls is approximately 30 minutes by car with some dirt road. Very worth the visit for those ‘Insta worthy’ pics!

An elevated, wheelchair-accessible (with assistance) 1.2 klm return (40 minutes) boardwalk suspended high above the forest floor winds through lush, rainforest canopy to the Barron Falls lookouts and Barron Falls railway platform. The Barron Falls is quite a spectacle after the rain and during the wet season!
