Dining

A Higher end restaurant, Italian by Night is an urban Italian restaurant and bar with a cuisine focused on combining imported Italian ingredients with local seasonal ingredients. We use old world techniques in a modern kitchen. From the moment you arrive, the outside world will fade away. The contemporary industrial turn-of-the-century space is the perfect backdrop for dropping by for a glass of wine and pizza at the bar, sharing platters with friends or colleagues at one of our signature family-style tables or a relaxed, intimate evening of dining. For a more relaxed experience, share an app and a pizza at the bar. 97 Germaine Street. 700 metres.

This is a great spot with consistently great food and service. Britt’s is an English-style restaurant brand opened in the heart of historic uptown Saint John, New Brunswick in 2010 and expanded to a second location at Golf Rockwood in 2015. Britt’s began with a shared vision for a welcoming place where friends can meet & enjoy quality, locally sourced food and drink made fresh and in house whenever possible. Our ownership brings many years of hospitality and business experience to the table. Including a born & bred Britt! 42 Princess Street - 800 metres.

This is my favourite ice cream shop ever! I’m lactose-intolerant and their dairy free options are fabulous. Bella’s Traditional Ice Cream is Saint John’s newest, hippest spot to grab a homemade shake, scoop, or pint to go. Walking by you will be drawn in by the delicious scents wafting out the door and onto Germain Street. The family-owned-and-operated homemade ice cream shop’s name pays homage to owner Derek Billingsley’s late grandmother Isabella – his three daughters serve up scoops under a neon sign bearing her name. Stocking reusable jars, compostable bowls and lids, paper straws and wooden spoons, Bella’s tries to reduce their environmental footprint wherever possible. I HIGHLY recommend stopping by this summer to give Bella’s a taste! 87 Germain Street - 900 m.

You can’t beat Tim Hortons. This one can be a little gritty and has a host of colourful patrons but is huge, with great service. 52 King Street - 1.1 km.

A must see! A unique phenomenon created by the collision of the Bay of Fundy and the Saint John River. At low tide the river empties into the bay causing a series of rapids and whirlpools. As tides rise they slow the river current for a brief period called slack tide. The Bay's tides continue to rise, gradually reversing the flow of the river; rapids form again, peaking at high tide. A 8.5-metre (28-foot) tide cycle is roughly 12.5 hours. 200 Bridge Road - 3.3 km

For thousands of years, the massive tides of the Bay of Fundy have been patiently sculpting their masterpiece in Hopewell Cape, New Brunswick. With over twenty free-standing sea stacks peppered along two kilometers of shoreline, no Atlantic Canadian vacation is complete without experiencing these icons. And just when you think you’ve seen it all, wait six hours as the Ocean Floor transforms in ways you wouldn’t have believed possible. Our Park admission is valid for two consecutive days to ensure you have the flexibility to see both high and low tides. Sturdy footwear is recommended for exploring our trails and shoreline. Be sure to check our tide times prior to your visit to see when it will be safe to explore our Ocean Floor. https://www.nbparks.ca/en/parks/33/hopewell-rocks-provincial-park 131 Discovery Road, Hopewell Cape - 132 kms

Saint Martins Sea Caves The Village's premier attraction is the St. Martins sea caves. Walkers and hikers consult the tidal charts to find the best time to walk the ocean floor out to sea caves, caverns and arches. The tide rises, soon erasing their footsteps, filling the caves and caverns with water. The tide rises and falls every 6 hours and 13 minutes , creating new times for high and low tides every day. The tidal range can be up to 38 feet on our shores in St. Martins. The amount of water that flows in and out of the Bay of Fundy in a day is equal to all of the water pumped into all of the oceans by all of the rivers of the earth. Fundy Trail Parkway Opens May 20,2022 https://fundytrailparkway.com/ 46 km

Night Scene for the Young @ Heart

I didn't know Saint John had a dance club until my 23 daughter visited. Sweet little spot to go dancing. Great DJs spinning awesome tunes all evening long. Apparently Saturday is the best night to go.
