A favourite with some of our guests. It was rewarded with its first Chef Hat plus regional restaurant of the year finalist in 2020. Enjoy the complete culinary experience with an emphasis on integrating flavours, textures and design (a little like MasterChef). Watch out for their lunch & matching wine packages. One of the attractions of Arimia is that they produce their own pork, trout, eggs, olives, vegetables and more

They only do lunch and this is one of our favourites. Fresh Asian fusion food with their own wine label. Love the sushi options. Tasting of wine available before dining. Smart casual. This place has a fresh, modern decor with outdoor and indoor seating. Just across the road from the chocolate factory.

For a more upmarket experience with an extensive menu, including a separate vegetarian menu, coupled with a chic setting and a stunning vista. The Cellar Door is a ‘must experience’ and ‘wow factor’!! Just be warned there is a considerable mark up on wine prices from cellar door to restaurant. So rather than order that second bottle, maybe bring one home from the cellar door.

Just a 15 min drive from here, I would say you should do yourself a favour and book breakfast, brunch or lunch at Meelup Farmhouse. In the summer months you could combine with a visit to the beautiful Meelup Beach. Open from Thursday. This is a trendy restaurant with a beautiful setting in the Cape Naturalist landscape. It offers a wonderful menu of your standard favourites plus dishes with some flare, including Vegan. They have a great drinks menu which includes cocktails and mocktails. They also do picnic baskets for a more relaxed option

A lovely restaurant with small art gallery in a stunning garden setting. Open for lunch and dinner, however lunch is our favourite as you can enjoy the tranquil garden setting. Prices are more towards the higher end but it is quality food and excellent service. From time to time they offer some great specials.

Swings & Roundabouts cellar door is where it all began... a comfortable, versatile space, filled with music with a beat, open fires, cosy corners and a huge lawn with arguably the best views in Margaret River. Their wines are reflective of northern Margaret River, Mediterranean in style and best enjoyed with friends and family. Food to match is simple and rustic, loaded with delicious flavours and great to share. A fantastic option for families as there is an awesome outdoor playground!

My favourite beaches

A stunning beach and surf breaks in front of the bustling little town of Yallingup which is a favourite for families and tourists. There is a beautiful rustic playground for the little ones and a lovely grassed area for bbq's - perfect for watching the sunset! You can also grab something to eat at the local restaurant or the coffee van in the carpark

This beach is your classic Australian beach with lots of space, white sand and ocean. This is a patrolled beach, so a safe option for all. There may be a few people on this beach in peak season because it is amazing, clean and great for swimming. Look out for the pods of dolphins that regularly swim there.

Families will love the pure white sand and gentle rolling waves of Meelup Beach, near Dunsborough. Meelup Beach has been a favourite for family holidays for generations. Here, the protected bay offers ideal swimming conditions. This calm bay is a popular place for yachts and sailing boats to drop anchor and enjoy an afternoon of swimming and relaxing. Barbecues and picnic tables sit under leafy gum trees on large grassy areas, making it the perfect spot for a picnic all year round. Those in the know head to Meelup Beach on summer evenings when for a few nights each month, the full moon rises over the Indian Ocean horizon. Meelup Beach is about a ten minute drive from Dunsborough

The largest and most decorative cave in the area. This cave is relatively young (1 million years old) and is in very good condition. Jewel Cave is close to Augusta, which is a lovely ‘old style’ sea side town. In the warmer months Flinders Bay is a lovely spot to visit, for swimming and picnic. You can also drive out to the Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse. It is the biggest light house in Australia. You can purchase a ticket to both Jewel Cave and the Lighthouse at the Margaret River Tourism Centre for approx. $40.00.

For nearly 120 years, the Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse has stood majestically as a sentinel to help protect shipping off WA’s treacherous South West coast in Augusta. Still a working lighthouse today, it’s the perfect day trip destination for all the family.

The Cape-to-Cape track runs for 123 Kilometres along the Leeuwin-Naturalist Ridge between the lighthouses of Cape Naturaliste and Cape Leeuwin. Enjoy this amazing coastline, with forest scenery breathtaking cliffs, caves, headlands and rock formations and changing vegetation and wildflowers. There are walks for the experienced hikers to shorter walks. Please see brochure on Cape to Cape Short Walks, which highlight 1km to 10km walks.

Meelup is surrounded by beautiful natural bush land – take one of the coastal walk trails that wind through Meelup Park. The bushwalking is easy going and suitable for families. You’ll be rewarded with amazing views over the ocean and colourful wildflowers during spring. In late winter and spring whales are often spotted on their migration along the coast.
