West Arm Provincial Park is a great spot for a long easy walk/hike with the family dogs. Take the Harrop/Proctor ferry over to this gem. Once off the ferry turn right on Lasca Creek Road which is just after the railway tracks. Follow Lasca Creek road which will turn into a gravel road. Cottonwood Lake is a Nelson hot spot especially in the winter. When you hit the timing right just before big snowfalls you can skate the entire lake. Throw the fishing rod in summer or try your hand at ice fishing. Cycling to Procter from Redfish Lakehouse is something that we highly recommend. Take the Harrop/Procter cable ferry over and follow the Harrop Procter Road about 9 km to the Procter Village Cafe where you can have a coffee or one of their famous cinnamon buns. Locals cycle in from Nelson for these famous local treats. The Procter Village Cafe is open daily from 7am - 3pm and is closed on Tuesdays.
