artisan beach town, with over 20 coffee shops and
Kauai's #1 weekly farmers market! It offers beautiful
beaches, unique boutiques, local restaurants, juice
bars, several beach bars, including Kauai's only
barefoot beach bar, art galleries and more. The Kapaa
shoreline bike trail begins here and is the longest
shoreline bike trail on the island, and a favorite by

Waimea Town is a charming area with Hawaiian style shaved ice, spicy shrimp and chicken stand, "Red Dirt T-Shirt"gift boutiques and more. It's worth a stop & shop on your way to Waimea Canyon and the island's West side.

This quiet Hawaiian neighborhood is mostly lived in by locals. It hosts the best Fresh Juice Hale on the island supplied by many organic farms nearby. Its country store called "Whalers Country Market" is famous for its authentic Hawaiian Poke. Stop in for some on your way to north shore.

Sightseeing
Plan on spending one day at Hanalei Bay and beach. It's a beautiful half moon bay with a large white sandy beach. Try paddle boarding up the river, boogie boarding, cliff jumping or swimming at the pier, sun bathing, smash ball on the beach and more. It's fun to grab lunch from one of the food trucks nearby and make an easy impromptu picnic on the beach.

Beautiful vista of the island. See the famous Kilauea Lighthouse or go for a hike on the Kilauea Trail. Then, after your visit to kiauea lighthouse, drive just a bit further north to find the trail down to "Secret Beach.

A definite stop on your tour of the island near Poipu. Beautiful overlook of the famous "Spouting Horn" that sprays giant plumes of ocean water pushed up through a lava tube that fills every few minutes from large waves. Interesting gift shops line the path to the parking lot and are worth stopping in for a gift or Hawaiian jewelry.

If you're looking for a classic island Tiki Bar, the Tahiti Nui is it! This is my favorite bar on the island. It's located on the north shore in Hanalei town. Try hitting a restaurant like Postcards first, then walking across the street over to the Tahiti Nui for some music, classic island cocktails and some reggae or island music and dancing.

We LOVE Mama Hune's Tiki Bar! It has the BEST burgers on the island and very good Mai Tai's. This outdoor Tiki Bar & Grill enjoys beautiful views of Wailua bay and offers a fun Tiki Bar theme. Best Way to Get Around in Kapaa -Rent a Bike or E-Bike
The main highway can get congested during rush hours and while under construction. The best way to get around in Kapaa is by bike or E-Bike. Several bike rental shops nearby. And coming soon to Coconut Marketplace is www.EZBikesUSA.com our first Electric Bike Rental in Kapaa. Ride the Kapaa Shoreline Trial to sight seeing and beaches or into town. It's fun and faster and easier than fighting traffic in a rental car then hunting for parking and you can see more of the island's beautiful places. Ride up to Jimmy's Grill on the beach for lunch dinner and music.

Public Transportation in Kauai
Kauai offers a low cost bus called "The Kauai Buss" that serves most of the island along the main highway.
