Lovely port with marina. 45 minutes north of us. Great local pub restaurant. Local shopping. Access the Bruce Trail and walk to the Lion's Head Lookout (wear hiking shoes as there is rough terrain).

Oliphant is 30 minutes west of us just north and west of Wiarton. Sleepy sand beach town, a little reedy. Kite boarding mecca!

Cape Croker Lighthouse and Cape Croker Park. 45 minutes northeast of us. The park is part of Neyaashiinigmiing, the land of the Chippewas of Nawash Unceded First Nation, (and upon whose land Cameron Point also resides). It's a public park in a beautiful setting. If you want to see the lighthouse, just ask someone. It's about an hour drive from us and well worth it. You can't enter the lighthouse but it's one of the few remaining historic lighthouses and well worth the visit. It flashes its light all the way to Big Bay ensuring ships safe passage. You will pass through the village of Cape Croker on the First Nations reserve. Please be respectful that you are on their land.

Cape Croker Lighthouse and Cape Croker Park. 45 minutes northeast of us. The park is part of Neyaashiinigmiing, the land of the Chippewas of Nawash Unceded First Nation, (and upon whose land Cameron Point also resides). It's a public park in a beautiful setting. If you want to see the lighthouse, just ask someone. It's about an hour drive from us and well worth it. You can't enter the lighthouse but it's one of the few remaining historic lighthouses and well worth the visit. It flashes its light all the way to Big Bay ensuring ships safe passage. You will pass through the village of Cape Croker on the First Nations reserve. Please be respectful that you are on their land.

While not strictly "On The Bruce', a nice getaway to "the other side" takes you to this local winery on the east side of Owen Sound. 45-minute drive south, east then north. Wine is quite good but not stellar (we prefer the whites). Stay for charcuterie board and pizza from their wood oven on the patio with tasting samples if you wish, while you take in the beautiful vista of the entire surrounding countryside and waters. Then select a few bottles to take home. It's one of our favourite spots...other than Cameron Point of course!

Just south of Southhampton, Port Elgin is a good-sized town for shopping and sightseeing. Long sand beach joins the two towns.
