Itis is the largest shopping centre in Finland. Thera are more than 150 stores as well as several cafés and restaurants. The shopping centre is easy to acces by car. It is located about 3 km from our house and there are plenty of free parking space. You can also take the metro. It is the next stop from Puotila to the city centre direction (Itäkeskus stop).

Old Manor house – Puotilan kartano
There is an old manor house located about 5 min walk from our house. The manor house has very nice restaurant. Lunch buffet is served daily and there is also á la carte every day. Brunch is served on Sundays. You can check the menu and opening schedule from http://www.puotilankartano.fi
Pub/Cafe Svenkka was the first disco in Helsinki. Nowadays it is very nice pub/cafe that offers live programme in the weekends eg. live music and stand up shows. You should visit Svenkka’s terrace in the summer time. Live music is played everey Friday. Svenkka is located in the manor house’s yard.

Pikkulintu (”small bird”) is small pub in Puotila that is know all around Helsinki for its excellent beer and whiskey selection.
You can choose one out of 14 beers on tap e.g. the famous and hard to get Siperia Imperial Stout brewed in Tampere or try one of their over 100 different whiskeys. The staff is really friendly and eager the help you.

The closest beach is about 600 m from our house. It is located behind Puotilan Kartano (the old manor house). There is also really nice walking/jogging/running route around Vartionkylän lahti (Vartiokylä bay). If you go around the bay, it is about 5 km walking/jogging/running route.
