The food is superb and my absolut favourite is the warm-smoked salmon with potato-salad. Finish it off with the delicious salmbärspannkaka and you'll feel happy and ready for anything afterwards! It is very busy in the summer though so try to avoid the worst rush-hour - or come off-season when it's quieter and the fire is burning. Perfect! =0)

The little fish-shop has excellent smoked prawns and home-made aioli. An absolute must if you like fish but don't want to spend money on a restaurant - take it home or enjoy it as a pick-nick!

Essentials
Coop has pretty much everything you need and staff that are always friendly and helpful. It can get very busy in the summer though but the rest of the year it is nice and quiet with good food etc.

Tempo is the nearest shop and you can find most necessities here. A bit on the expensive side but very handy and close-by.

The best shop on the island. Excellent for ecological fruit and veg and also for local produce.
Have had specialised areas such as Little Britain, Little India, Vinyl Discs, low alcohol beers etc.
A must visit if you need to shop!

Take your kids and some hot-dogs and spend the night eating and climbing the rauks in this beautiful setting!

Visby with its medieval wall and houses is worth not one, but at least two days of exploring!
Walk between the wall and the sea, turn into the botanical gardens and continue around the wall all the way round (if you have the energy...). Have a "fika" in one of the many good cafés or a crepe or a gourmet meal - the choice is yours!
Don't forget the camera and good walking shoes!

Walk through Danbo nature reserve to Grynge and you have a perfect walk no matter what the weather or season. Beautiful!
