It's a hidden gem in Parkwood. It is a Malaysian Chinese restaurant. Try: award winning curry laksa, special fried rice (popular), gan xiang chicken, and many more. Very friendly owner and staff. Great for group bookings and for families with kids. They provide high chairs and children's utensils on request. Been here many times and they never disappoint, especially very short walking distance.
The best time to go would be during lunch time (kitchen close around 2 - 2.30pm). For dinner time: best to go earlier to avoid rush hour and long waiting (serving may take slower than usual).

I prefer to add extra white pepper to all my food order from this place, for a stronger solid flavour :)

113 Collins Rd Malaysian Chinese restaurant. Large serving, reasonable price. This is my other go to place when Hometown Kitchen is closed - as Taurus always open for the whole day everyday except Monday (closed). I prefer to add extra white pepper to all my food order from this place, for a stronger solid flavour :)
One of my favourite Italian restaurant. I personally feel that everything I order from this place taste really yummy. Friendly staff, large food portion, very Italian atmosphere. Space can be a bit cramped if you order a lot of food, but that's what you would expect when you go to a real local restaurant in Italy. They will turn on the music and sing Happy Birthday song if you tell them it's your / your family/friend's birthday :)
Be sure to be there by 5PM for dinner, otherwise the queue can be quite long!

This is an iconic spot at Guildford area. Classic burgers for takeaway at a popular, time-tested hangout, with bench seating on the verandah (and a fire pit). It is one of the oldest roadside burger kitchen in Perth.
If you've got no space, can also go to their old-train-turned-into dining space just at the back of the shop (air conditioned and comfortable). Also try their hearty warm ham and pea soup. Open from 5pm til midnight.

This is one of the best Japanese Ramen in Perth. Always packed with ramen lovers. Dosukoi ramen especially warms my heart. To avoid long queue, I prefer to go on a Friday night (much quieter), order my food, pay, and can sit straight away while waiting for my delicious ramen.
At peak hours (on Saturdays and Sundays), you have to plan well because you have to: place your order, pay, leave your mobile number, get a ticket, and wander around the market until they text you when the food is ready. Best to eat on the spot, as handmade noodles can get soggy after few minutes.
They also have a branch in Perth CBD, which only opens during office hours.

The canal is a complex of luxury houses. During mining boom, the house complex is arguably one of the most expensive estate in Southern hemisphere.
If you are lucky, you can see dolphin too (a rare sighting, but we experienced one before).
The plus thing is Mandurah is only 50mins drive from the house. (this is relatively short distance for locals). Mandurah is a perfect day trip destination for families with kids.
