The best surf beaches are on the southern side as well – Cave Beach, Aussie pipe (Summercloud), Five Mile and Steamers Beach. Please be aware these are not calm bay beaches, they are not patrolled and, while they are beautiful, they are very exposed and can be dangerous. If you want real surf head north to Culburra and Crookhaven heads or south to Sussex inlet, Bendalong, Manyana and Green Island.

Here you will find a collection of history of the area, inspired by the Lady Denman ferry which was built in Huskisson in 1911. The ferry is now listed as an item of NSW State Heritage significance. The museum exhibits a world-renowned collection of maritime artefacts and navigational and surveying instruments.
The complex occupies a 10 hectare bushland/wetland site on the shores of Currambene Creek and includes a large recreation area with native gardens, Aboriginal artefacts, a mangrove boardwalk, fish feeding pond, boathouse and historic buildings. The award-winning complex is a not-for-profit community organisation with a very small team of staff and a very large number of volunteers who are dedicated to the preservation of the lady Denman Ferry, artefacts and history of the local region.
