Food scene
This is our family favourite. Recently reopened under new ownership, it’s got a really family friendly menu and the food is good pub fare. If the Thai curry is on the specials, it’s an absolute winner.
A roaring fire 🔥 greats you on winter days and a lovely garden with a little bouncy castle for the little ones for the summer. Dogs are welcome and it’s one for the family. Booking is recommended, but they might squeeze you in.
It’s a lovely stomp across fields and bridle ways or a five minute drive!

A little further afield this is close to a fabulous woodland (to the right of the pub as you face it from their carpark down the lane, you will find a great woodland with circular walks) , the food here is hearty and wholesome. Lovely to settle down in after a stomp around the woods. Happy to host your canine friends they might even get a little treat.

Lovely to settle down in after a stomp around the woods. Happy to host your canine friends they might even get a little treat.

Just yummy! With a small onsite shop with their products.. Book up as it gets busy. Amazing views over Blagdon Lake and the Valley.
This is one to check for opening hours and availability, since Covid the timings have been trickier!

I haven't been for a while, but this was a real favourite of myself and Olly - lovely food, cosy atmosphere, it's a little further away, but was worth the travel...
Update! We had a brilliant meal in January :-) still a favourite!

Low ceilings, open log fires, great pies, it's a real country pub. Close to Stockhill Woods, combine the two!
In the festive season they turn the whole place into a gingerbread house, it's a spectacular site and fabulous for the whole family. Dog and kid friendly, there is a care park and small kids play area. Writing this has reminded me to get back there soon!

Another local favourite, I love the fish they do here, but rest assured there is food for the whole family. I think they still offer a take-away service, so it's a good one to stop at on the way back from a walk on the Mendips.
