The Forte de Copacabana (Copacabana Fort) is within a walking distance from the apt. The fort is a museum, the view to Copacabana beach is breathtaking, and it is very interesting to envision that the fort was built to protect the city of Rio de Janeiro from invaders (pirates and colonial powers) when Brazil was a Portuguese colony. But I recommend you go early in the morning to avoid the long queue. It opens at 10am.

The previous residence of the Mr. Henrique Lage and his italian wife Gabriela Besanzoni was inspired in a `palazzo romano`. It has a pool in the center. In front of the house there is a beautiful garden and in the back it is the Tijuca forest. It is a phantasmic place to stroll around. If you are more athletic, there is a track that goes from the Parque Lage up the mountain until the Christ statue area.
