The Ship Inn is an olde worlde pub set in a perfect location, and Dog friendly, overlooking the beautiful Red Wharf Bay on the northwest coast of Anglesey. Facing east on the lee side of a hill, it is protected from the prevailing winds and catches the morning and afternoon sun perfectly. It is difficult to imagine a better place to enjoy gourmet food and real ale, whether it is taken outside at the picnic tables or inside in the cosy bars or restaurant areas. The whole place exudes charm and warmth and the friendly, helpful staff reinforce the feeling of calm and relaxation. Red Wharf Bay itself is a quiet spot with superb views and is an excellent base for walking or discovering the delights of Anglesey by car. It’s just a short drive from the main road, yet feels like it’s miles away. All this makes it the perfect year-round retreat. We look forward to welcoming you soon.

Plas Newydd is steeped in history and so interesting. Rex Whistler was hired to paint the mural here. As you walk past the mural things in it move around, A truly brilliant optical illusion. The grounds are beautiful and the view over the Menai Straits is stunning. They have a very nice café too

Moelfre itself is a picturesque former fishing village with a long maritime history – the active Moelfre Lifeboat Station and Moelfre Seawatch Centre attract many visitors every year. Moelfre is also on the Anglesey Coastal Path. The meaning of the Welsh language word ‘Moelfre’, translated into English, is 'bald or barren hill', which describes the land behind Moelfre village, as seen from the sea.

Parys Mountain copper mine Parys Mountain copper mine , Amlwch, Anglesey is one of Anglesey’s must-visit locations! For the general public, there is a network of walks around the weird landscape of the ancient copper mine at Parys Mountain starting from the car park on the B5111 from Amlwch to Llanerchymedd. A well marked track leads to the viewpoint overlooking the spectacular Great Opencast – shaped by miners using nothing more than picks, shovels and gunpowder! There is a level walk around the top of the Great Opencast and a viewing area with a stunning panorama that shows off the excavation’s amazing colours – an artist’s palette of reds, oranges, pinks, browns, purples, blacks, greens, yellows, and greys.
