Pretty white village north of Marbella. Home to outdoor hiking and canyoning adventures, and some great restaurants including the memorable Taberna Fantastica.

Fuengirola has grown on me. At first i thought, too busy, too hard to park, too touristy, not all that beautiful. But, it has a history as a local fishing village. Due to its nice beach and weather, has grown to a Scandinavian and British winter getaway destination. It also has nice beaches, a huge weekend market in the town center, many quality and mid range restaurants, many local pubs where football fans drink and gather, a shocking amount of photographable vintage condo buildings from the 60s and 70s, and it's practical regarding things you need. Train station, health clinics, furniture stores, PCR tests, general shopping (Corte ingles and many affordable shops of all kinds), cell phone services, and street festivals. Word of warning, best to take a scooter rather than try to park!

Bar Belga Fuengirola
Fuengirola has grown on me. At first i thought, too busy, too hard to park, too touristy, not all that beautiful. But, it has a history as a local fishing village. One of Andalucia's beautiful white villages and home to a well loved Via Ferrata (high ropes course). Get a guide from TUUR Adventures to take you thru the roles course then have lunch in the village.

Marbella is a beautiful city with style, fine dining, quality beaches, a lovely old town, theater, etc. Definitely worth a day's visit. Recommended areas to explore are old town, Puente Romano Resort, San Pedro village.

Ready for some fresh air? If you're staying in Mijas Pueblo, please know that some lovely hiking trails originate in the town of Mijas Pueblo. Start by heading up to the Cala de Mijas (Franciscan chapel nestled in the hills above Mijas Pueblo) - about a 20 minute hike from Lancora Vista. From there you can choose various other trails from a few km to the top of the local mountain (a great workout) or hike all the way to Coin or Benalmadena. There's no shortage of hiking trails in southern spain.

Not difficult but beautiful and exciting terrain. A perfect example of the rugged and beautiful Andalucia landscape. Hikes can vary in length of time. Plan ahead. Bring water.

One of the favorite local traditional tapas spots in the Pueblo. More of a local favorite and away from the tourist center. Nestled into a corner of the village, walking distance from the L'Ancora Vista apartment. During covid hours have been limited.

This is not a high end restaurant, but it's one of my favorites in Mijas Pueblo. Affordable, excellent quality food with a regional flavor, great view of the Virgen plaza, sometimes flamenco enthusiasts play and sing at the bar. The locals go here. Don't be fooled by the touristy menus, this place is worth a visit!

VEGAN restaurant in Fuengirola. Unfortunately the health food craze has not hit Costa el Sol and it can be very hard to find quality, fresh options that are vegan friendly. However this place is great and centrally located.
