Mesa Verde National Park is home to nearly 5,000 known archaeological sites, including 600 Cliff dwellings, that were home to the Ancestral Pueblo people more than 700 years ago. The park offers ranger-guided tours and self-guided tours of the dwellings, multiple hiking trails, evening programs, Educational Lectures, and an on-site museum. There are multiple shops, galleries, and places to eat throughout the park, as well as picnic areas if you decide to pack in a lunch.
