Our lake is quite large, having a surface area of approximately 7.5 square kilometres (1,900 acres). The lake actually consists of four sections. We are located within the south western section called the Joe Bay. Going north on the lake you can visit the Outlet Bay (to the East), the Inlet Bay (to the Northeast) and the North Bay. The water typically reaches 27 to 28 °C (81 to 82 °F) within six feet of the surface in the summer, and is perfect for swimming and all kinds of watersports. The lake is normally frozen over from late December to early April, and many people snowmobile on the lake, go for walks or cross-country skiing or clear snow for skating or hockey. BEACH: There is a large, public sand beach (with washrooms), which you can access by boat (turn left and follow the shore). In the alternative, you can drive around the lake and access the beach from Hwy 118). Our own waterfront is sandy and shallow near the shore. CLIFFS: The North Bay has massive pink granite cliffs, rising hundreds of feet out of the lake along the shoreline. You can also see smaller cliffs near the cottage (just across the lake and to the south). FISHING: We understand that the lake is great for fishing (though we have no experience), especially for largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, walleye, lake trout, perch, pumpkinseed, northern cisco, white sucker.
