Great local Chinese Food. If you’ve never been to STL than you probably dont know but we have great Chinese takeout restaurants here. Nothing fancy but if your trying to relax and have a night in stop in to Rice House i suggest the Hot Braised chicken combo plate 😋

Great Food, best price! Historic restaurant everyone must be 21+ to enter no children unfortunately. A lot of food for cheap prices with good beer selection. A lot of history in this place and the main tourism driver for Alton Illinois you’ll be pulling up in less than a 20 minute drive.

Best BBQ in STL hands down this is sauced BBQ and you’ll smell it ip the street. Everything on the menu is good with healthy portions. You gave yo order in person no call ins or internet orders but its worth the wait which is normally 20 minutes. Side note-if your looking for a dry Rub try Pappys in Downtown STL.

Neighborhoods
Florissant is a regular working middle class neighborhood. It is pretty safe and most people are good people. There are good local restaurants, parks but not much entertainment. There are some great local bars that will actually surprise you how lively they get during the week, Mattinglys, Brewskys, and Shade to name a few. Most of the bigger entertainment venues have moved to more affluent areas so look for driving about 15-20 minutes if your looking to take the kids to D&B or a jump park or walk through an “old fashioned” mall.. Also for movie theatres, clubs, casinos and major nightlife be prepared to travel to Saint Charles, Downtown, or the Loop all within about 20 minutes from Florissant.
I grew up here in Florissant and many things have changed some good some bad but its still a great place to hang out and relax which is why I bought my home here. People who live in Florissant enjoy a quiet place to come home too while still being near the exciting parts of the city
