Mingara is a large local facility with gym, pool, and several restaurants, bars and cafes to cater for all levels and tastes. Just 5 mins from house. Indigo Restaurant is nore upmarket. Roasted Berry Cafe is lovely. There is a burger bar and a Chinese restaurant. There is an indoor pool for lap swims and several smaller pools for kids and aqua aerobics. The Mingara One gym is one of the nicest gyms on the Coast. They have a courtesy bus that will pick you up and drop you off at the Airbnb just ring up to book.

A must do great for all visitors and free! Get up close as local wild pelicans come in for their daily feed run by dedicated volunteers who know every bird individually and can tell you their stories while talking conservation.

Wide sandy beach with beach on both sides of headland. Good snorkelling also. No dogs allowed on this beach. Toowoon Bay Surf Club has facilities and a cafe.

Popular dog walking beach (to the north) takes about 30 minutes to walk from start of off leash area to end of headland which connects to Toowoon Bay. 10 mins drive from house. Also has a wide payrolled surf area for ocean swimming and the great Munchas Cafe where pooches are welcome. The Shelly Beach Surf Club has an upstairs bar and restaurant which is a great place to have dinner and drinks while watching the sunset over the ocean (check opening hours as it is seasonal)

The shared walking and biking track around Tuggerah Lake is just 2-5 minutes walk from the house. It travels all the way around the lake to The Entrance (about 8kms one way). Mostly flat it has great views of the lake and foreshore all the way around. Note: can have large puddles after heavy rain.

Terrigal about 15-20 mins drive away is a popular and vibrant beach often likened to the 'Manly' of the Coast. Walk the Haven headlands for coastal lookouts and whale watching. Dog off leash area at The Haven as well. Restaurants and Cafes abound in Terrigal along with coastal fashions and homewares shops. Crown Plaza and its Florida Beach Bar are the iconic spots.
North of Terrigal Beach heading to the lagoon is another dog off leash area.
