Amazing food, small atmostphere, fantastic customer service and just a fun place to go with great food. I've never had a bad experience here.

This is a locals favorite and has the most amazing breakfast! Expect a wait if you don't get there early but it's worth it.

This is the original stand where Earthbound Farms started. Still owned by the founder, this little stand has a fantastic salad bar and sandwiches, a wonderful children's garden and pick your own herbs garden and also sells produce and snacks. And of course a little gift shop. They have a lovely garden to sit outside and enjoy the beauty of Carmel Valley. Truly worth the 15 minute drive down Carmel Valley Road to experience this.

OMG - this is the bomb. Best crepes (both savory and sweet) EVER. Located next to Portola Hotel, it's a MUST. They serve the best mimosas there too. They bring the champagne in a half bottle, fresh squeezed orange juice on the side....such attention to detail so you can mix your own. Love it. Not expensive either. $8.50 for a mimosa and roughly $10-$15 for an amazing crepe. Love, love this place. Afterwards, stroll along the marina and down to Fisherman's Wharf.

Drinks & Nightlife

My favorite rooftop bar - right in the heart of Carmel by the Sea. Firepits, twinkling lights and a great vibe. They have a great restaurant downstairs as well.

Parks & Nature

Point Lobos is a 15 minute drive down Highway 1 South and offers stunning hiking trails, picnic areas and loads of nature. Pay $10 if you want to drive in and park at one of the parking areas, or you can park for free along Highway 1 and hike in.

Nothing beats a Carmel by the Sea sunset. The lovely white soft sand and pink sunsets are stunning. The main beach can be quite touristy so I recommend driving down a bit further between 8th and 11th for the same experience with less of a crowd.

Big Sur is a once in a lifetime experience. The drive there alone is iconic and one not to be missed. Make a day of it and spend time hiking, sitting in the river chairs at Big Sur River Inn, lunch and fun at Nepenthe and spending time amongst the Redwood Trees. Not to be missed.

Everything Else

Little locals secret found on on Cannery Row. This place is in the red barn structure just to the right of Bubba Gump's. Wall to wall glass overlooking Monterey Bay. Located on top floor - if you can't find it - keep looking. It's there. So incredibly great and amazing wine, cheeseboards, and other great food. But the view is spectacular - you will see whales (in migration season) and otters everyday. It's one of my favorite places.

Adventures by The Sea located underneath Portola Hotel is the best! Rent an Italian Surrey Bike with your family and enjoy a wonderful ride up and down the coastline. It's roughly $30 an hour and a bike fits 4 or so. Be careful crossing streets along the bike pathway and angling your way between the posts but it's a wonderful experience regardless. Lots of fun spots to grab a picnic along the way too. This company also does kayaking and stand up paddle boarding.

Arts & Culture

Carmel by the Sea has lots of shops and art galleries and is perfect for an afternoon stroll. Ocean Avenue is the main street but be sure to visit the side streets and hidden courtyards as well which are all over the little town.

Grocery Shopping

Bruno's is our local market in Carmel by the Sea and the closest to us. There are larger grocery stores however, like Safeway and Lucky located a few miles up Highway 1 at Carmel Rancho Shopping Center and The Barnyard.
