Hundreds of people drive along High Drive on Spokane's South Hill every day, yet many are completely unaware of the 500 acres of Ponderosa Pine forests and bunchgrass meadows that thrive along a steep hillside below. This large natural space is known as the High Drive Bluff, and there is a lot more to explore than most people realize. With over 20 miles of trails, the bluff is the perfect spot for anything from a morning stroll to a grueling mountain bike ride. It is also an ideal location for trail-running, hiking, dog-walking, birding, and watching the sunset.

Named “One of the Top 12 Scenic Cable Rides in the World” in 2013 by Conde Nast Traveler, Daily Traveller, and MSN. The Numerica Skyride Over the Falls offers spectacular views of the second longest urban falls in the United States. Enjoy a 15 minute ride in an “all weather” enclosed cabin. Each of the 15 cabins is ADA compliant and can hold 6 passengers. The Numerica Skyride offers the best, convenient, easily accessible, upfront views of the Spokane Falls that run through downtown Spokane. You will travel past art deco City Hall, then gradually drop down 200 feet over the Huntington Park Natural Area. From there, you will continue across the Spokane River in front of one set of falls, under the historic Monroe Street bridge and return to Riverfront Park. While the best views are March through June when water is raging, there is always something new to see. Bring your camera and capture some memorable photos. The cabin windows open for clear shots. Sometimes, you can even catch a rainbow.

Big Rock in the Rocks of Sharon is the largest of the number of monoliths that protrude from a ridge that runs eastward from Krell Hill, also known as Tower Mountain. These granite monoliths are a popular location with rock climbers. Rocks of Sharon overlook the Palouse Hills of Eastern Washington and Idaho. Rising to an elevation of 3,600 feet they equal the height of Steptoe Butte some 35 miles to the south. Geologists believe that about 70 million years ago volcanic magma from the earth’s hot mantle just below the continental crust pushed upward into the fractures of the bedrock and eventually cooled to form the erosion-resistant stone outcropping. This collection of scenic boulders got their name around the early 1900's when Spokanites ventured out of town for weekend picnics. The Sharon store, just south of Tower Mountain, was a stop on the electric railroad that ran from Spokane to Pullman, thus the name Rocks of Sharon. Adventurers would ride to that stop and hike up into the rocks for a day of sun and fresh air. While the store and the railroad are gone, the rocks and the name "Sharon" remain. Once atop the big hill, surrounded by the Rocks of Sharon, the views open up. Looking southeast are the rolling hills of the Palouse and in the far distance Steptoe Butte can be seen. Looking east you can see the mountains of Idaho and the Liberty Lake area. To the west is Krell Hill where the KHQ tower is located. The Iller Creek Conservation Area consists of 966.62 acres on the eastern side of Krell Hill and is part of Spokane County's Conservation Futures program. Iller Creek drains the eastern slopes of the mountain along with a ridge to the east. The creek's headwaters lie on the northern flank of a ridge that extends eastward from the main mountain. Krell Hill, also known as Tower Mountain, is a peak at the southern end of the Selkirk Mountains in Spokane County, Washington. It rises abruptly to the south east of the relatively flat Moran Prairie neighborhood of Spokane's South Hill. The northwestern portion of the mountain is known as Browne's Mountain and is a residential neighborhood just outside the Spokane city limits. Directly to the south of the mountain the vast farmland of the Palouse region extends as far as the eye can see. An area of high topographical relief continues to the east of the mountain towards Mica Peak and the Coeur d'Alene Mountains of the Bitterroot Range, in turn part of the Rocky Mountains. To the north the mountain descends slowly into the valley of the Spokane River and the City of Spokane Valley. Tower Mountain, while not the official name, is commonly used because there are many tall television and radio towers along the ridge atop the mountain.
