El camino de acceso está completamente asfaltado y sube más de 600 m desde Villa General Belgrano, cruza el río de los Reartes y pasa por los parajes Atos Pampa, Intiyaco y Villa Berna, de notable belleza.
Fundada por una familia alemana, Algunos atractivos turísticos de La Cumbrecita son la cascada (los colonos alemanes la llamaron "Almbach", que se traduce como "arroyo de la colina"), los bosques de coníferas y árboles caducifolios, como los robles y encinas; el antiguo cementerio (que desde su inicio fue planteado como un bello parque con frondosa arboleda), el río subterráneo, entre otros atractivos naturales.

Pueden comer en cualquiera de los lugares recomendados de pasada hacia la Ruta del Virrey , si gustan de conocer las estancias jesuíticas sobre el camino que dá la vuelta hacia Agua de Oro. Hermoso paseo.
