Good food, delicious local steaks and a great patio. They'll let you try the wine before you commit which I recommend you do.

I'm from the East Coast and I have to say this is tasiest and closest thing to a NYC slice in Colorado. Best gluten free pizza in the valley too.

Breakfast place. Like dinner food but a little more homemade. Huevos Rancheros are real good and so are the Sante Fe Cakes. The latter is also gluten free.

Whether your going all the way to the top of Sopris (planned to summit by 1pm to avoid afternoon thunderstorms) or just hiking to the lakes this is a pleasant hike.

You can rent mountain bikes and fat tire bikes. Really nice guys will give you info on trails near by.

Getting Around
You can go up valley to Aspen with lots of local stops in between or on the express bus (BRT or Veloci-RFTA). You can also use it to get to Glenwood Springs and as far as Rifle.
There is a connection here for a local Carbondale bus called the Carbondale Circulator. The closest stop to the apartment is by the Rec Center on the corner of N 6th St and Colorado Ave.
