The gardens offer visitors a peaceful stroll along winding reflection ponds sheltered by a picturesque oak hammock. Famous for its unique shoreline of coquina rock formations along the Atlantic beach. This ancient rock formation creates the perfect spot for beachcombing, tidal pool exploring, and photography. Visitors can picnic and fish from either the beach or the seawall along the Matanzas River.

Matanzas Inlet may just be one of the most picturesque coastlines in Florida. The inlet, between historic St. Augustine and charming Flagler Beach, is where the lively Atlantic meets the Matanzas Estuary, one of the state’s purest. The Fort Matanzas National Monument, for which the inlet is named, is a reminder of the early Spanish empire in the New World. Originally a Spanish outpost built in 1740-1742 to guard the inlet and to warn St. Augustine of British or other enemies approaching from the south.

Located in the beautiful Hammock area of Flagler County, this two-acre park offers beach access, paved parking, restrooms, and outdoor shower facilities. Rocks in the surf and the possibility of strong undercurrents, make it ideal for those who enjoy relaxing near the ocean in peace. It's not well-suited for swimming, which means it is rarely crowded. Take the dune walkover to the beach to find a variety of shorebirds, gulls and pelicans. It's a great place to look for ruby-throated hummingbirds during the summer, and gannets during the winter. Available Facilities and Activities: • Beaches • Boating • Pets • Picnicking • Restroom Facilities • Showers • Wildlife Viewing
