THE best fruit, veg produce you will find around here. it's right next to a Woolworths and a (grass-fed only) butcher. Pro-tip, head out the back of the fruit shop to find a great Italian deli - raid the cheese section!

If you take the train to Manly through the day, head to Adelita and enjoy a light afternoon / early dinner and excellent drinks. secure a booking though, it can be very popular with locals. The owner is very humble and comes from a lineage of excellent of notable restaurants in Brisbane.

Hands down - the best Bahn Mi you'll ever have. Order this in through Uber eats. This is a cult local favourite and unknown to most tourists. The location is not ideal and the ambiance is not appealing - it's clear they focus purely on the food and impeccable service. If you're ordering - let us know, we can not deny it (the roast pork one is knee weakening), most people buy 2 at a time - per person. - I think it's the house made pate that takes it to new levels!

GOLD COAST: Plan to spend a day at the Gold Coast? here's a pro tip - purchase the tree tops challenge and you will get access to Currumbin Wild Life Sanctuary (the attendant will tell you the Tree Tops Pass is not for the santuary), no one cares if you do the challenge then decide to wander around and look at the wildlife (it's kind of a locally known thing) don't pay for a seperate wildlife pass. Then to round off the afternoon, walk 100mtrs down to the beachfront and swim between the flags next to elephant rock pub which is also on the water.

The door and location might be something most would look past. The owner Kenny is an avid craft beer curator and supports local musicians and has a liking for punk music. Ask for a "pickle back" - it's kenny's specialty drink (using his house made pickle juice, sounds weird but trust me - it's good!) Although it might not seem like it, this place is one of the safest places to be if you need to escape the hustle and mayhem of ann st (very close to the Zoo and Bens Burgers in Winn Lane)
