A list of our favourite bars, restaurants and places to visit
Excellent pizzas that are really well priced, and in an excellent location right in the main square. Good for larger groups, families and last minute bookings too.

Shhh - don't tell anyone about our favourite restuarant. The people that know the area, go to Ca Pepe. A quiet restaurant away from the main town but a stroll from the house. Excellent high quality menu, food and service

A little pricier for eating but worth it because of the view and away from the hustle and bustle of Moraira. Next door is a deli that does amazing homemade food that you can take away and eat on the beach or grassy area outside.

Bars

Our favourite bar in Moraria - now with an amazing rooftop overlooking the Marina. Lots of cocktails, beers and wines - and excellent service

The restaurant is excellent (make sure you book), but we love the bar on top. Situated away from the throng of the town, overlooking the marina, with high class cocktails, sushi and top service

Sometimes, it's cold and wet in Moraira (hard to believe I know), and we always head indoors to La Cucaracha. We grab a takeaway from Tiger Pizza around the corner and eat it with very strong drinks and a really wonky pool table. It's where the locals go when the tourists aren't around.

When you walk down into Moraira, Saxo is the first bar you'll come to. They have live music at 6pm every day, and it's always packed. It's basically where the evening party starts. You can then wander into town. If you have older teenagers, they will like it late in the evening when it's more of a "disco garden"

A short walk from the house, Bar 21 is actually the closest local bar. It doesn't have the views as it's in the winding roads of the local villas, but everyone goes there. The back garden has lots of seating and they have excellent food that's well priced. We use it as a stopping point on our way to the L´Andragó beach and bars.

About a 30 minute drive gets you to a giant waterpark in Benidorm. A must for the kids - look for the vouchers at the airport and local supermarket for discounts

A pleasant (but very steep in places) walk up to the "pepper pot" that you can see from the Terrace. Go early before it's too hot and take some water. Views are incredible. Have a dip in the sea on your way back in El Portet to cool down, and have a beer to congratulate yourself.

A short drive away, Altea's old town is stunning and an essential trip whilst staying at Moraira. The town is at the top of a hill and you'll need to park at the bottom, and take it easy especially if walking in the sun. We'd also suggest you find and book a restaurant as it can be packed in peak season. See if you can find a roof terrace table for unrivalled views
