Fantastic french cuisine, super quick service, booking essential. We go for the lunchtime fixed menu which at £12 for 3 courses is a bargain. Much more expensive in the evenings.

If you fancy a longer walk you can venture to the next lock down the river from Iffley Lock. Another pub awaits you. It's a really nice walk through meadows to get there. If you are an outdoor swimmer there are lots of entry points in to the river along this stretch and the river is quiet with only the odd boat. We swim on a bend in the river with a large white house on the opposite side. It used to be a ferry crossing point and the house a pub, and there a nice sandy beach area for getting in and out.

This is the huge new shopping centre in Oxford. Full of mostly well known brand shops its not everybody's cup of tea. However the space is very open and light and multi levelled - its really popular particularly with the younger people. Definitely worth going to if you like a bit of a shop.

Local Supermarkets

The Botley Road has the nearest supermarkets - Aldi and Waitrose. Waitrose is the nearest and a short walk. Leave the flat and turn left on to West Street. Go over the bridge and turn left on to Botley Road (main road). Walk up a few hundred metres and its on your right. There is a back route which is quieter. Leave flat and go left on to West Street. Immediately go right on to Swan Street. Follow the little footpath at the end of this road around the old school. Cross over the road you come to at the traffic lights and walk beside the big open park. Access Botley Road by streets on right.
Verkehrsmittel

Getting to London

The easiest way from the flat is by train. Walk to the main train station (5 min walk) and buy a return ticket to Paddington. Make sure the ticket includes a pass for the Underground in London - you then use your same ticket for getting about London as well.
Verkehrsmittel

Heathrow and Gatwick

If you are arriving by plane the bus service from Gatwick and Heathrow are both good. Get off at the last stop - Oxford Bus Station. The flat is a 10 minute walk from there. If you have a lot of luggage walk from the bus station in to the main square behind it - there is a taxi rank there and you can get a taxi. Gatwick and Heathrow are both served by trains - however you have to change in London and use the underground so i would recommend the bus which is direct to Oxford.
