We work around getting you to hot water beach around the low tide so you can experience this unique place of natural thermally heated water seeping through the sandy beach. We have time to dig in the sand and make your own spa or just enjoy the hot water on your feet.
Enjoy the view over the Te Whanganui a Hei Marine Reserve at the top lookout. Walk down to Cathedral Cove and back - this gives you the chance to take photos inside the cave and the two beaches on both sides of the cave.
Please note that some people may consider this walk as "moderate" - a one-way walk is 2km (1.243 miles) long through hilly terrain.

Cathedral Cove
Enjoy the view over the Te Whanganui a Hei Marine Reserve at the top lookout. Walk down to Cathedral Cove and back - this gives you the chance to take photos inside the cave and the two beaches on both sides of the cave.
Please note that some people may consider this walk as "moderate" - a one-way walk is 2km (1.243 miles) long through hilly terrain.
Piha is a scenic black-sand surf beach on the rugged coast west of Auckland. There are several walks through native forest in the surrounding hills. A laid-back seaside village 45 minutes west of Auckland city, Piha is popular with local kiwis - especially in the summertime.

Muriwai Beach is a favorite beach near Auckland and is one of the best beaches on the north island. This stunning coastline is not only beautiful but actually home to a very impressive Gannet colony.

Muriwai Beach is a favorite beach near Auckland and is one of the best beaches on the north island. This stunning coastline is not only beautiful but actually home to a very impressive Gannet colony.
This is one of only three places where gannets nest on the mainland in New Zealand, and certainly the most accessible. It's a pleasant hour's drive from the centre of Auckland out to the wild west coast, passing through a couple of towns and lots of lumpy green farmland en route. The gannets start nesting in August and stay latest until April when the chicks are fledging.
