Just down the road from my apartment, this super-friendly deli and coffee shop serves the most amazing brunches. The corned beef hash, made using their home-cured salt beef, is wonderful. Such a warm, inviting space with great food served by lovely staff; not least of all proprietor Jez.

A fantastic, friendly pub just a short walk from the apartment that also happens to be a pizzeria. Beer and pizza all made on the premises. The seats outside catch the last rays of the sun on a summer evening. The best pizza I've eaten since living in Italy.

My favourite cafe in St Leonards. Scandi-influenced, minimalist decor with a delightful, covered outside area this is not just a place for incredible coffee, the food here is also great. I've whiled away many warm, comfortable hours here watching St Leonards go about its business outside the huge window. The managers are lovely people too!

I love this place on Sunday afternoons for a quiet time reading my book. It's run by a lovely, friendly couple who create amazingly delicious yet simple food at very affordable prices. In addition, the cakes are just amazing.

Neighbourhoods
The best part of town for me and the neighbourhood that reminds me most of my time living in London - and this is a good thing. It has a multicultural vibe and a great 'melting pot' of people. There are so many wonderful places to eat, drink or shop - and they're all independent!
