I love to support small neighborhood bookstore- especially the one in mine. Good browsing, and they’ll order books for you. Funny story- one of my guests who spent a week to write her 2nd book was happy to see her 1st book featured here.

Sightseeing

You are in walking distance of the crookedest street in the world (that’s not a tourist attraction, aka Lombard Street.) For an interesting walk, go left out the door, down 22nd St. one block (one of the the steepest streets in the city at 32% grade...note steps on north side of street).) At the bottom you’ll come to Vermont Street. Wander up this winding road to McKinley Park with views across the city including Golden Gate Bridge. Every Easter Sunday, the quirky Big Wheel Race happens down Vermont Street. Also look up driver Ken Block’s video- Gymkhana 5 to see crazy car stunts around SF and on my block and Vermont Street.

This neighborhood used to be a pile of rubble (fill). In the last 15 years, it has become a UCSF campus, biotech hub, and home to the Warriors new stadium. North edge of this neighborhood is anchored by the Giants Stadium. New parks along the waters edge are coming.
