Sightseeing

This historic and symbolic cross is just outside the Basilica of Senior Sto Niño. The place where Ferdinand Magellan planted the cross upon arriving Philippines on 1521. I recommend this historic place to anyone who visits Cebu. This is the starting point of Christianity in the country.

This is another historic place in the city and it is just few blocks away from Magellan Cross. This fort was built in the early 1700s to protect against Muslim raiders. Part of the fort is a museum with well preserved Spanish artifacts.

It is close to my place. It is built by the Chinese community. What I like about it is the architecture and the view of the city since it is uphill.

shopping

It is one of the biggest shopping mall in Cebu and has a wide variety of shops and restaurant. My most favorite part is the terraces to make me relax and enjoy watching the landscape and waterfalls.

Food scene

It is the biggest weekend food market in Cebu. Opens every Thursday to Sunday from 5pm to 1am. You can try both Filipino and international cuisines. Lively place with great food. Try lechon or roasted pig, Cebu has the best one.

Verkehrsmittel

Get an awesome jeepney ride

Jeepney is only in the Philippines and you must try it. For the fare, you can find the list inside the jeepney but you can also ask the driver or the people sitting nearby. You can pass your fare to the person next to you towards the driver. Just say “ akong plete palihug” which simply means “my fare, please pass to the driver”. Prepare your coins and if possible to pay the exact fare.
