Sightseeing

These are the spots easily accessible in the neighbourhood with no or minimal use of public transportation.
You can access the peak and its morning walk directly from our place - to the starting point, it takes about 15 minutes to walk. Be aware that this is a steep hike starting uphill before you reach the starting point and then has several flies of stairs in the beginning. All the hike is pretty uphill so requires either allowing enough time to do it or a good physical condition. If you do the full circle, it will bring you to the viewing point and then back to Kennedy town (it takes us usually 2-2,5 hours but I also did it below 2 hours although I think you would need to really run :D). This is an area where locals like to hang out. Although it is a doc, it is accessible to the public and many call it the "Instagram Pier" as you can snap some cool pics of colourful barrels and containers. In the evening on the weekends, you can find a lot of people hanging out there - elderly and young groups doing outdoors exercise, god owners, kids. It also continues to a renovated promenade that connects Kennedy Town all the way to Wan Chai - great views of Kowloon and the ICC tower at night are guaranteed. There is even a small coffee shop at the promenade if you get tired and want to stop. Also pretty good for jogging early in the morning (night time gets crowded).

Coffee Shop

This coffee shop/bar is just down our building on a corner of Forbes & Davis. Owned by Australians (it is open for coffee and drinks until late) with the best selection of music, high bar-style chairs, benches and open-air concept so you won't freeze while having your coffee or a bite. Also serves vegan-friendly coffee and is always packed on weekends with good vibes and people.

You can grab your coffee and just sit outside watching the sea and the Kowloon Side of Hong Kong which is pretty nice and relaxing.

This is a coffee shop but also a bakery if you are in the mood for some Europe-style pastries or bread.

Groceries

This is literally down the block and a supermarket that sells Chinese as well as imported stuff with a wide array of products. Tip: grab a shopping bags at our house to avoid plastic and also, look out for discounted fruits and veggies they often promote when they reach the consumption date (saves a ton of money!)

Food scene

Great Mexican place, quite hidden but you can manage ;) on the more expensive side of the market though.

This is an Australian brewery which also serves good food. Quite lively in the evenings and nearby the shoreline so you can also stroll to watch Hong Kong at night once you are done with your meal and a couple of beers.

Great middle-eastern food. A short walk from the flat. A little bit more pricey.

Down the block really, good food and big portions (I usually pack half back so then it is really a good deal for money).

24/7 Shops

This is not a recommendation but can come handy - just down the building is the McDonalds that is open 24/7 in case you arrive really late and want a bite.
