El Centro Cívico de San Carlos de Bariloche se inauguró el 17 de Marzo de 1940. Fue construido por el arquitecto Ernesto de Estrada con madera de ciprés, alerce y piedra toba extraída del cerro Carbón.
Su arquitectura, influida por el estilo imperante en las regiones montañosas y boscosas de Europa y Estados Unidos, y con el magnífico paisaje del lago Nahuel Huapi como escenario de fondo, lo convierten en un paseo obligado tanto para los turistas como para los residentes de la ciudad. En la plaza se realizan importantes eventos culturales y sociales.
Tambien alli funciona el centro de informacion turistica.
The Civic Center of San Carlos de Bariloche was inaugurated on March 17, 1940. It was built by the architect Ernesto de Estrada with cypress wood, larch and tuff stone extracted from the Carbón hill.
Its architecture, influenced by the prevailing style in the mountainous and forested regions of Europe and the United States, and with the magnificent scenery of Lake Nahuel Huapi as a backdrop, make it a must for both tourists and residents of the city. Important cultural and social events are held in the square.
There also the tourist information center works.
