Trains and walking

•Apex Park (playground, reserve and walking track) is directly in front of our house – walk out the door, turn right and then immediately left at Forest Ave. You can cross the creek to the playground, go to Joan’s Pantry (good café) by turning right, or take the walking track to your left. •A map of Belair National Park is provided. The Belair Trail goes all the way from our house to Belair National Park, which is a beautiful place to explore. Walk out our front door and turn left and continue to the walking track at the end of our street. The path goes along the creek (turn right and cross the bridge when you come to a little playground) and through suburban streets until you get to the National Park. It’s about 20 mins walk to the National Park and is fairly flat the whole way. Playford Lake is near the main entrance of the National Park and is a nice spot to sit and watch the birds and ducks (from our house up to the National Park, a circuit around Playford Lake and return home is almost exactly 5km). •A train timetable (Belair line) is provided. Our nearest station is Blackwood Station. To get there, walk out our front door, turn right and then take first right (Acorn Rd) and continue straight up the hill until you reach the train station. It’s about a 7 min walk. From the station, it’s a 27 min train ride into the centre of Adelaide. There is a bus interchange at Blackwood Station and buses to Flinders University or Marion Westfield depart from there. For more info and timetables, visit: http://www.adelaidemetro.com.au/ •If you cross the train tracks and continue walking a further 3 mins up the hill you will reach Blackwood village. You’ll find three supermarkets and chemists, cafes, etc. there.
