My husband and I used to live in this beautiful neighborhood that is perfect for the active and/or hungry person.😄 Right next to the river walk, lots of delicious restaurants, and easy to walk/get around in. Also an area for the arts!

This is one my family’s Favorite places to spend time at in downtown San Antonio. An old brewery turned into upscale Hotel Emma and dining district. There’s always something going on. Pearl Farmer’s Market on Sat-Sun mornings, the Bottling Department Food Hall open daily, plenty of whimsical boutiques, our personal fav, Bakery Lorraine(try the macaroons 😍), and of course the scenic river walk. There’s also a splash pad for the little ones on a hot day! Anytime someone comes to visit, this is a must see!

My husband and I adore the breakfast at this restaurant. Located in King William/Southtown neighborhoods, connected to the Pioneer Flour Mill. Was operated and owned by the same family for more than 150 years! Breakfast tacos and cinnamon rolls are amazing, but my favorite are the Chicken and Waffles! (Everything is great) They have a cute gift shop too!

For the best view of Downtown San Antonio, check out the Tower of the Americas! My personal favorite time to go is at night, but it’s still beautiful in the daylight as well. There’s a charge of about $14/person. Hint: if you go to the bar or restaurant and order something they will allow you to go to the top/lookout for free. This entrance is inside and the wait time is generally much shorter. I recommend if you’re on a budget also to park your car on a side street somewhere nearby if possible as well due to paid parking in the Tower lot. Enjoy!

You can’t miss out on the River Walk when you come for a San Antonio visit. Take a boat tour for $13.50/person(ages 6-64), grab something to eat, and possibly experience one of the many river boat parades throughout the year. My family’s favorite restaurants on the River Walk include Casa Río for Mexican food and Paesano’s for Italian. If it’s a busy day try to put your name in before you’re too hungry...the wait times can get pretty long!

The most historical part of San Antonio is its missions, and more specifically, the Alamo. If you love history this is the place for you. Many people have told me they were underwhelmed upon visiting, but remember that this was a mission built inside a fortress compound in the 18th century. It wasn’t created for tourists! Enjoy the beauty of what remains. I love it, and I also love the huge Live Oak tree in the garden area. Admission is free.

There are four missions in San Antonio that you may or may not have heard about! The Alamo is not included in these and is actually the smallest. The biggest, and my favorite, is Mission San José. It has a beautiful courtyard around it, a lot of history, a church still in use, and all are free to visit.
