Al’s Burger Shack was named best burger in the country. That may be a little lofty but I think you will enjoy.

Town hall recently reopened with a new menu which I haven’t tried yet. But historically they have always done food very well and I’ve always been pleased. They have indoor and outdoor seating, a lovely dining area as well as a bar area with tv’s if you want to catch a game.

Also located with our neighborhood’s market area, Market and Moss is a relative newcomer on the food scene. While I have not had a chance to eat there yet, the word on the street is that it’s a great place for a nice meal or a date night.

I rediscovered this oldie but goodie recently and was so happy I did! Now I’ve been making up for lost time by eating here or ordering take out a few times a week! They have outdoor seating and a nice indoor space as well!

You MUST eat lunch or casual takeout from this casual but amazing Mediterranean menu. I recommend you go in person to see their amazing case of fresh foods first hand even if you take it to go. While tandem and elements compete for my favorite higher end restaurant category, this is hands down my favorite fast casual lunch or quick dinner category! There is no other like it! It’s in the heart of downtown Chapel Hill and only a mere few minutes from here. There is street parking or a very close public lot across the street. They have plenty of lovely sidewalk dining or indoor dining.

Simple place, all you can eat sushi menu. Nuf said! I tend to go for their weekday lunch time all you can eat sushi which is the best deal for the price compared to dinner or weekend. As part of the all you can eat, you can also order from a variety of non sushi items!

However, if you sneak down the side alley, you will find their hidden lounge and my favorite locals secret for an amazing cocktail. You can also order from their food menu and eat it in a completely different atmosphere than their more formal dining room. The bartenders take their job seriously and you will want to enjoy one of their specialty drinks. If a small cozy lounge is not yet your thing in Covid times, they do have a lovely outdoor seating area as well. It’s a really great place to get a top notch meal as a solo traveler at their bar.
