Local favorite for fast and affordable fresh-made pizza. Lasagna Wednesday’s are delicious, but the lasagna goes quick! They’re closed on weekends but a great spot for dinner pickup or a quick lunch during the week. Our son loves their soft-serve ice cream as well!

A two-minute walk from our home, across the historic swinging bridge over the Frying Pan river, this American-cuisine restaurant and full bar’s deck seating can’t be beat. A local vibe during happy hour, and the sound and view of the gushing water make for great ambiance for lunch and dinner.

Set in a historic Victorian building in the heart of Basalt downtown, this is an upscale tapas-style Spanish/Italian eatery with an extensive wine list. Great ambiance for a romantic date night.

This place is unlike any other, if you like meat pies beyond the regular chicken variety. There’s a vegetarian one as well, though they can’t make it without cheese so vegans are left pie-less. They’ll work with you on some salad or sandwich variations, but mostly we don’t recommend this spot to plant-based folks. They do have lovely live musical guests on the patio on warm evenings, and the restaurant is in a quaint Victorian, so you’ll get a great local vibe.
