The closest Restaurant/Bar

The Mugshot Tavern is across the street on the south-east corner of Keele & Bloor St. They have a lovely roof-top patio which is open during the summer months.
I recommend the steak salad (with goat cheese instead of blue) and the chicken burger. The beef burgers are also amazing. They often have food specials - so ask about that. The Mugshot tavern also has a decent selection of local beer on tap.

Breweries

Toronto has a number of fantastic breweries.
The fried chicken here is amazing! Warning - highly addictive. Ask for extra spicy mustard dipping sauce and forget about the Ranch. Also must try the hickory smoked ribs - they are out of this world. Beer is brewed locally and have visiting taps as well. I love their 'Broken Hipster' and 'White Rabbit' beer. The sour beers are also interesting. Can't decide? Get the sample flight and try them all! They have a take-away bottle shop open until 11pm.

Fantastic selection of locally brewed beer and have an outdoor beer garden. Get there early if you want a seat, as this place is packed in the summer. Also have a take-away bottle shop open until 11pm.

Bellwoods Brewery is hands down the best place to sample toronto's local brews. I love their Jelly King Sour beer - they do a few different versions of it - raspberry is the best I've had. If you want a heavier brew - the Witchshark IPA is a winner. The food is very good also. They have a seasonal front patio with communal-style seating. The only issue is because the beer is so tasty - it draws a big crowd - so get there early, especially on a nice day. If you cant get to the restaurant, you can also pick up bottles at the bottle shop open until 11pm.

Best Local Cafe's

Hannah's is a short walk away from the building and right across the street from High Park. I'm a regular there as they make a fine double cortado. The muffins and cookies are very good as well. They have paleo cookies and non-gluten options. They have very good sandwiches - I highly recommend the breakfast biscuit made on home-made biscuit with bacon, egg, tomato and cheese.

This coffee shop is off the beaten path but definitely worth the time and effort. They have the smoothest, sweetest, espresso I have tried locally. Really impressed with their coffee. Can't recommend this place enough!

Best Croissants

As a connoisseur of fine pastry - this deserves a category of it's own
If you like.. i mean love pastry... you must must visit Patisserie 27. Authentic french-style pastry and cakes. Try the mixed berry Danish (my fav), the pain au chocolat, or the almond croissant (best i've had). If you prefer savoury, then try the beer croissant or the leek danish.
