This is Brunswick's Winter Farmers' Market - it is inside Fort Andross, next to the Flea Market. Veggies, meat, cheese, pastry, bread, yogurt, hard cider, miso, art prints, hand-turned wood...and some really excellent people. I have worked for several different vendors at the market and I know pretty much everyone else. It is an excellent social scene as well as source for all kinds of local foods and crafts.

Wild Oats is a community fixture with good food (large portions!) and cafeteria-style seating. My favorite thing to get for lunch from here is soup and a brownie.

Because they're awesome! And: gluten-free food that sets a standard. And if you are a muffin fan, they really have the best in town. They also have great coffee. (Full disclosure: I worked here for a winter - they rock!)

Drinks & Nightlife

Frontier is a good restaurant with some excellent mixed drinks, but they also have an amazing view of the Androscoggin as well as indie movies and great music events.

Essentials

Has the regular supermarket fare, plus a decent selection of natural and organic. Remember to take a reusable bag, though, because Topsham charges $0.05 per plastic bag.

Great little natural food store jam-packed with food, supplements, and beauty products. They have a fresh (only organic) produce section, bread, meat and cheese cooler, and freezer sections - as well as a good selection of wines. They make a good effort to keep prices very competitive with the supermarket. (Full disclosure: I also worked here for a year.)
