Food Scene

Best Italian in Hervey Bay, (in my opinion). It's so close to the apartment and they also do takeaway. Recently they've opened a cafe next to the restaurant which serves the most delicious Gelato.

Forget Baskin-Robbins and their 32 flavours. Planet 72 is, you guessed it 72 flavours of Ice-cream. Located on the Esplanade across from a popular park, its a great place to take the kids for ice-cream and a play in the park/beach. Its open from 9am until 10.30pm, Monday to Sunday.

Great view, nice food and coffee. They also have plenty of beach sports, hire bikes, jet skis, stand-up paddle boards & kayaks. Book a fishing charter or go on a banana ride. There is something for everyone at Aquavue.

Urangan Pier is a historic pier in Urangan. It is a former deep-water, cargo-handling facility originally built to facilitate the export of sugar, timber and coal. The pier, served by the extension of the railway line from Pialba, was used for the transfer of cargo between rail and ships. It was built between 1913 and 1917, originally to a length of 1107 metres. The pier was closed in 1985, and 239 metres of it was demolished. However, due to public outcry, 868 metres of the pier was left, and the land was given to the Hervey Bay City Council (now the Fraser Coast Regional Council). By 2009 the last 220-metre section of the pier had been fully restored, and the original timber pylons had been replaced with steel pylons with a plastic covering. Great walk to the end of the pier, great place to fish. You can usually spot Dolphins, Turtles, Stingrays and the occasional Dugong. You may spot a fisherman catching a shark or two.

Fun for kids

The water park is a great place for kids to have fun for free. The near by coffee shop 'Bean Beat' serves one of, if not the best coffee in Hervey Bay.

Skate Side & Adventure Side Adventure Side: The huge structure comprises of three massive slippery slides. The only way up is to negotiate the net ladder or web netting, each with their own unique challenges. Children under 4 may struggle to get to the top without adult assistance. Once at the top, kids choose one of three slides to ride down. Two of these slides are only accessible by walking through a netted tunnel, another challenge! The park also features a swing set and net swing. Skate and Parkour park: Concrete flow bowl with street elements on the platforms.
