Excellent bar and service, this is another locally owned establishment. Their menu is always updating and specials are delicious! Brunch available on weekends, not open for lunch at this time.

The Virginia Zoological Park is a 53 acre zoo adjacent to Lafayette Park in Norfolk VA. The zoo opened in 1900 and was accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums in 1987.

The museum is open daily from 9-5. Check out their website for information on boat trips and Adventure Park, a tree top ropes course, and other special events.

This is quite a drive, my maps says 30 minutes, but it will feel longer. It is totally worth the drive. This beach/park has playgrounds for kids, grills and shelters, (reservations required) if not reserved, the shelters are free to use, a fishing pier, as well as restrooms and plenty of parking. Surfing is to the left of the pier and swimming to the right. Most importantly, they have lifeguards on duty. Parking is $5.00 for non residents of Virginia Beach, a bargain compared to Oceanfront rates!
This is the beach I took my own kids to for years!

Voted the most beautiful amusement park for years, this park is less than an hour's drive. It boasts roller coasters and thrill rides for all ages as well as seasonal shows with talent from all over the country. Check their website for events and concerts.
