To me, this is the most Stunningly beautiful place in Kathmandu Valley. It's very rich of Buddhist Culture and Heritage.
Built by the Tibetan Buddhists, this is one of the largest spherical shaped Stupas in the world and largest in Nepal. There are numbers of Buddhist Monastery nearby the main Stupa. Sunset is the best time to visit this place

According to the Myth, Kathmandu Valley was a lake. God Manjushree cut the hill in the south and drained the water, thus creating a very fertile valley for Human Settlement. The area where lotus grew was then developed as a major Buddhist pilgrimage. Swayambhu stupa was built.
Visitors can see the entire expanse of Kathmandu and the Himalayas in clear weather. It is a place one must visit.
