There is free parking at the 7-story garage at 101 Washington St., Oakland, 1-1/2 blocks from the Jack London Square ferry terminal (take your parking ticket for validation). Go in the morning or afternoon, enjoy the ferry ride, explore downtown SF, then take the ferry back to Jack London Square where there are numerous good restaurantsT

This is a wonderful place to go to hear live jazz and other music genres. Their concert schedule is published on their website. The doors open about an hour before the concert. If you reserve dinner at Yoshi's restaurant (excellent sushi and other Japanese dishes) you get reserved seating for the concert somewhere in the front 2 rows. Highly recommended for music lovers.
